Havent tried all that much- but the extract tool doesnt seem to be great...............
Heard there were some good, semi-inexpensive programs for extracting/ masking.....

Tue, March 24, 2009 - 4:39 PMStraight up pen tool. Make it your friend! I don't mean to sound obnoxious, but that is what I use, and I'm incredibly fast at it. Obviously you'll need to clean up hair and any diffuse matter with the brush, or better yet, copy an alpha channel with a lot of contrast in the areas you want to cut out of the background, fool with the levels until you get something approaching only black and white, and then use this as a selection. -

Thu, April 9, 2009 - 11:56 AMgo too www.adobe.tv.com and search for The Russell Brown Show. He has awesome technique in the extractor that I didn't know about and I've been using it since 7. Also quick mask is good and in CS4 the color select is much more usable than before.
