I'm laying out a book/album in PS (ok maybe not the best tool but it's what I'm using) and am encountering some questions:
1. How do I select multiple layers and align them? I can see the icons in my toolbar to align but I don't know how.
2. How can I crop a layer without cropping the entire image? It seems if I select the layer and use the Crop tool, it crops all the layers, not just my selected layer.
Thanks!

I got a secret, I got a secret. I know something you don't know, I know something you don't know. And I'm not tellin', I'm not tellin'. -

Shift-click or command-click to select the layers. Command A to select the entire workspace, then select the move tool and align horiz/vert/center...

Drag a marquee around the part you want to keep. Select>Inverse and Delete.

Re: Working with Layers - Aligning, Cropping
Wed, September 19, 2007 - 9:55 PMI tried using Shift click to select multiple layers and it didn't work (I'm using PS 7.0). What I ended up doing was linking the layers and then aligning. But I found that clunky; my roommate suggested using guides and then using the Snap to Guide feature -- seems like a good solution.
I love Select>Inverse and Delete. I never knew about it but it rocks my world and will save me so much time in the future; thanks for your help!!! -
