So wanna pick peeps brains about dig tablet..
Seeing lots of mixed shyt about the Adesso Cybertablet - but tempted to try it for the price.....
Adesso 10x6.25 = $130.
Wacom Bamboo 8.5x5.3 = $200.
Wacom Graphire 6x8.2 = $249.
Know i cant go wrong with Wacom..., but am loathe to spend 200+, if the Adesso is good enough....
Not sure how often i will actually use it in long run, altho there is a job i DEF will use it on coming up..., but i DO do photography also, and mite start using it for that somehow......
Wot say thou ....?

Thu, October 16, 2008 - 10:37 PMI don't have one; don't know what it'd be used for if I do only photography have no complaints other than our species insistence on screwing everything up and I'm an Aquarius.
But I like gadgets so maybe I have to get one.
Just sayin'

Re: Tablet, tablet... who's got the tablet......
Fri, October 17, 2008 - 12:33 AMHawkeye,
you may know I do nude photography and photo manipulations as well as metal art.
Here's a good example of using the Wacom light tablet to embellish my models head of hair (underwater).
ou8nrtist2.deviantart.com/art/M...132945
But the most use I get from it is for site specific decorative arts designs(proposed metalwork).
I shoot the clients site, then using the tablet, sketch over the photo what my fabrication will look like in situ. -

Fri, October 17, 2008 - 4:46 PMThat's good that you brought that up Stef,
because that actually is my only critique of my pad.
It's only 4.5 x 5.5 and sometimes as I'm drawing with the light pencil on the pad ,my eyes are on my monitor screen and I sometimes go off the edge with the drawing.
In short I wish I had a bigger pad, with the same functions...

Re: Tablet, tablet... who's got the tablet......
Mon, November 3, 2008 - 6:35 PMI've worked with different sizes, the small ones tend to be a little too small, and the large ones are cumbersome. I like the middle ground. I have to check an old tablet that I used at work for about a month before I could not take it any longer, I believe it was a graphire. I do need to double check... I have the medium sized intuous now.. I love it. However, I am disappointed that it has "dings" in it after about 2 years... I don't like that...
I do design and photo correction and manipulation. -

Sun, February 1, 2009 - 10:56 AMIt's true the Wacom are worth it. You can get nice used ones online because they're very durable. We got our Intuos 3 on ebay in box used once or so, spotless and works like a charm... cost about $325.
