It is expensive but remember this when you quote on a job in the future !! I understand the cost and many people don't want to pay it but please this is why the work is priced at what it is priced so even though you are starting out factor what software costs into your billing structure so that

a) you can afford the upgrades as they come
b) not kill the market by dropping your prices so low that it causes internal breakdown !
c) you create a sustainable job that doesn't go bankrupt due to using hacked or "student software bundles"

ebay works. Most vendors package an upgrade version of 3 or 4 with PS7. I haven't had any problems.

Ann,

At one time, I took a bunch of classes so that I would qualify for a student price on software, and Photoshop was one of them. Check the Adobe site for all the info. The first link here brings you to their educational info, the second link is the page describing who/what, etc they will give discounts to. You can buy direct from Adobe, or you can do a search on google for "academic software pricing" or something like that and you'll get tons of hits. The pricing seems to be the same, and for Photoshop it's $299.

Best wishes with it,

How can I get Photoshop mac for the student price? I plan of taking a class in Photoshop, but I am not sure I can get it at a student price. Also, my step-daughter loves photography and would have fun using Photoshop on my computer, but I am not sure since she is still in High School.

Yicks, $700.00 is a lotta money!

What do you think and how can I get it cheaper?
